How to start the home buying process:
- If financing - Get with mortgage company to disucss mortgage fees (get a Good Faith Estimate) and get prequalification letter.
- Mortgage companies - Loan Depot , Rocket Mortgage , Veterans United , Quicken Loans
- If paying cash - Get proof of funds. Normally just a copy of your statement showing funds (block out your account number)
How to buy your next home:
- Start doing a search for homes in the area that you want to live on sites like Realtor.com or Zillow
- When you find a home that you think you may like, look at it on Google earth and go do a drive by to make sure it's what you are looking for.
- Once you have nailed down the home that you want to see and ready to buy, contact an agent that you want to work with.
- If you streamline the process you can find an agent that will do a home buying commission rebate.
